Maud Hart Lovelace’s childhood home (“Betsy’s House”), 333 Center Street in Mankato,
was designated a National Literary Landmark in 2010. Lovelace, author of six novels and
eighteen children’s books, was born in Mankato in 1892. She is best known for her beloved series of Betsy-Tacy books, which depict her childhood days in Mankato.
